Mälardalen University with campuses in Eskilstuna and Västerås is one of Sweden's largest universities with 16,000 students and 1000 employees. The university is also the largest in terms of the number of postgraduate students and in terms of the breadth of postgraduate education areas. Despite this, the college is characterized by closeness to the surrounding community and closeness between students and teachers.
