The European project ASC4INN (Alliance for Advancing Innovation in Education and Business through the Digitalisation of Agricultural Supply Chains) has officially launched, bringing together leading universities, vocational training providers and industry representatives to strengthen innovation capacity in the agricultural supply chain sector. The project responds to the growing need for professionals with advanced skills in digital transformation, sustainability and supply chain management \u2013 areas that are rapidly changing the way agricultural value chains operate across Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
ASC4INN focuses on identifying the skills and competencies needed to support the transition to more digital, efficient and transparent supply chains in agriculture. Based on a thorough assessment of the sector\u2019s needs, the project will develop new educational programs focused on four key deep-tech areas: the use of robotics and drones in agriculture, the application of IoT and blockchain technologies for data tracking, the implementation of big data and advanced analytics for informed decision-making, and investment risk management to assess the feasibility of technological innovations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During its implementation, ASC4INN will develop and test innovative curricula for both higher education (HE) and vocational education and training (VET). These curricula will be supported by modern teaching materials, specialized tools and future-oriented teaching methodologies, including blended learning, gamified learning and immersive simulations through virtual and augmented reality. The project will also introduce a framework for micro-accreditations and micro-pathways to support the recognition of competences across Europe. Pilot courses and mobility actions will enable students, teachers and professionals to directly engage with the project results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
By providing high-quality, market-oriented educational programs, ASC4INN aims to strengthen the match between academic training and labor market needs, ultimately improving employability and supporting the long-term competitiveness of the agricultural supply chain sector. The project also promotes deeper collaboration between universities, vocational education and training organizations, enterprises and sector networks, fostering a robust ecosystem for innovation and knowledge exchange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project officially launched with a two-day kick-off meeting in Thessaloniki, Greece, organized by the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. The agenda included presentations by the partners, an overview of the project objectives and action plan, as well as dedicated sessions dedicated to governance, quality assurance, dissemination and implementation strategies. The second day focused on the detailed planning of the curriculum development, micro-qualifications and upcoming work packages, ensuring a shared understanding of the tasks, timelines and collaboration methods among all partners.
